Mike Fried has been a professional custom deck designer and builder in Long Island for over 20 years. He is a graduate of the New York Institute of Technology with a degree in Architecture.
After graduating, Mike knew that his passion for design was well suited for his growing construction business. Since then, Mike has developed the family-owned and operated custom deck design and construction company into a producer of high quality decks on Long Island and surrounding areas.

Pressure treatment is a process that forces chemical preservatives into the wood. The preservatives help protect the wood from attack by termites, other insects, and fungal decay..
Wood-plastic composite decking is designed to stand up to the elements, allowing it to maintain its beauty for years. There is no need to paint, stain or seal it, which is often a costly and burdensome yearly project as with traditional wood decks. And, because it resists most weathering, warping, and insects, you won’t find it necessary to replace rotting, uneven, or insect-damaged boards, giving you many years of enjoyment.
Ipé (pronounced ee-pay) is an almost magical South American hardwood.
Western Red Cedar is reddish brown and ages to silvery gray.
Redwood is a soft lumber that ages to a pleasing gray. Prolonged moisture will cause the wood to blacken.
Mahogany is a tight-grained tropical hardwood that resists pests and rot. Treat it with marine oil and it looks like teak. Or, let your mahogany deck age to a silvery hue.
